About Calorie Calculator

The Calorie Calculator estimates the daily calories required to maintain, lose, or gain weight. It is designed to compute your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) and your Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE).

Mifflin-St Jeor Formula:

  • Men BMR: 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) - 5 * age (y) + 5
  • Women BMR: 10 * weight (kg) + 6.25 * height (cm) - 5 * age (y) - 161

This BMR is multiplied by activity multipliers ranging from 1.2 (sedentary) to 1.9 (highly active) to find TDEE.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How does the Calorie Calculator work?

The calculator first estimates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) using the Mifflin-St Jeor formula based on your age, sex, weight, and height. It then multiplies this value by an activity multiplier (TDEE) matching your routine.

Q: What is TDEE?

TDEE stands for Total Daily Energy Expenditure. It represents the total number of calories your body burns in a day, including physical activity, digestion, and metabolic function.
